A Fantazien Window

Imagination, Neotrepidia, Naturficial Wonder

Once Upon a time in Oklahoma

Once upon a time in Oklahoma
Lived a pretty nation of yesterdays,
Who fell in love with her tomorrows,
But her tomorrows were cruel and sick,
Feeding promises it couldn’t keep.
Sometimes that nation is just a girl,
Who keeps faith with her today world,
Leading her down a path of Madness,
For soon tomorrow will be gone,
And what’s left of today will betray –
Is nothing all you have to say?

It is as clear as statues have ears,
Still keeping up appearances
Lost in their cemetery scene,
Where life remains just a dream,
Must time tell that girl’s secrets deep,
Of who dreams when statues sleep,
Yesterday’s, today’s, or tomorrow’s?
Maybe we should drown ourselves,
In that pretty maid’s sorrows.
