A Fantazien Window

Imagination, Neotrepidia, Naturficial Wonder

Stepping Into a Shadow

In a hot air balloon and gone too soon,
72 days ’til I’m over the moon,
Both of us thinking we know better,
I’m chasing rainbows over the horizon,
But the colours are still in your world,
In mine just fragments of a broken dream.
I’m pining over the shadow you keep,
Wondering if she’s cast by me or by you,
Everyone is beautiful in that darkness,
And my prismatic light only does harm,
Nor can I make these shadows match,
My darkness is as broken as my light,
This sickness makes health so clear,
Like a wish that’s asking me to go,
To give the world a chance to escape me,
Because I know, and you know…
I didn’t escape myself.
