A Fantazien Window

Imagination, Neotrepidia, Naturficial Wonder

Holding One’s Own

This age is designed to weary,
Its wonders are trivial.
Dressed resplendent for arrangement,
As brided and widowed sorrows.
Ill-fated days of blades and sheaths,
Must give up strength for justice.

Volumes unnamed and unwritten,
Must not temper steel in blood,
Nor the quill with celebrity,
Or speak false immortality –

Now that lies are wit.

Stay your hands and bury grievance,
Passionately, or be damned,
All we possess, possesses,
This life overflows with death.
The wilder flames of love curfewed,
Our dreams put out, but hope still kindling,
Electric gifts that shock the world.
Growing circuit by circuit,
Bright wonders to galvanize us,
Brings truth back to the beloved fore,
Out of history’s brief refrain,
To reverie’s recital.
